How far is too far from North Campus?

Vishwavidyalaya metro station is at the heart of North Campus, with GTB Nagar one stop away. A PG within a ten to fifteen minute walk of your college saves money on autos and gives you more time for classes, societies and sleep. If you must live further, stay close to a Yellow Line station so the commute is predictable.

What to check in a PG near North Campus

  1. Distance to your own college. North Campus is large. Map the walk from the PG to your college gate, not just to the campus.
  2. Meals and timings. Classes and societies run late. Ask whether dinner is served late enough for you.
  3. Study space. A table, a chair and a good light for each person matter in exam season.
  4. Wi-Fi and power backup. Ask residents how both hold up in the evening and in summer.
  5. Rules. Check entry timings and guest rules before you agree, not after.
  6. The total monthly cost. Electricity, laundry and cleaning are sometimes extra. Ask for one number.

Planning your monthly budget

Rent is the biggest cost, but not the only one. When you compare PGs near North Campus, add up:

  • Rent with meals: in Kamla Nagar, listed PGs ran from about ₹4,500 to ₹29,000 a month.
  • Electricity: included in some PGs, billed by meter in others, especially for rooms with an AC.
  • Laundry and cleaning: sometimes included, sometimes a small extra.
  • Books, photocopies and travel: small amounts that add up over a semester.
  • The deposit: usually one or two months' rent, paid once and returned when you leave.

Ask each PG for the total monthly figure in writing so you compare like with like.
