A PG in Gurgaon is the easiest way to live close to work in one of India's busiest office hubs. The city, officially Gurugram since 2016, is spread out and traffic can be heavy, so the area you choose matters more than almost anything else. This guide shows what PGs cost and where to look based on where you work.

Where to look for a PG in Gurgaon

Near Cyber City and Udyog Vihar

DLF Cyber City and Udyog Vihar hold many of Gurgaon's biggest offices. The DLF Phase 1, 2 and 3 neighbourhoods around them are full of PGs and paying guest houses. The Rapid Metro loops through Cyber City, so you can often walk or take one short ride to work.

Along Golf Course Road

Golf Course Road has premium offices and housing. The Rapid Metro runs along it towards Sector 55-56. PGs here cost more but save time if your office is on this road.

Sohna Road and the southern sectors

Sohna Road has a growing number of offices and newer residential towers. Rents are usually lower than near Cyber City, but check the commute at peak hour before you commit.

Near MG Road and IFFCO Chowk

These areas sit on the Yellow Line, which connects Gurgaon with Delhi. They suit people who travel to Delhi often or work near the Yellow Line stations.

Getting around Gurgaon

  • Yellow Line: links Gurgaon (Guru Dronacharya, Sikanderpur, MG Road, IFFCO Chowk and Millennium City Centre) with Delhi.
  • Rapid Metro: loops through Cyber City and runs down Golf Course Road, with an interchange at Sikanderpur.
  • Cabs and autos fill the gaps. Budget for them if your PG is not near a station.

A PG within walking distance of your office or a metro station is worth a slightly higher rent, given how much time traffic can take.

What to check before you move in

  1. Your real commute. Try it at the hour you will travel, not on a quiet afternoon.
  2. What the rent includes. AC electricity, laundry, Wi-Fi and housekeeping vary a lot between PGs.
  3. Meals for your shift. Ask whether late dinners or packed lunches are possible.
  4. Security. Check for a guard, CCTV and a working gate, and walk the route from the main road at night.
  5. Agreement, deposit and notice period in writing, with receipts for every payment.

Planning your monthly budget in Gurgaon

Gurgaon can be expensive if you only look at rent. Add these before you decide:

  • Rent with meals, which ranged from about ₹2,000 to ₹45,000 a month across the PGs we list.
  • Electricity for AC rooms, often billed by meter and highest from April to September.
  • Daily travel. If your PG is not near a metro station, cabs and autos add up quickly.
  • Laundry, housekeeping and Wi-Fi, if they are not included.
  • The deposit and notice period, so you know what it costs to move if your office changes.

A slightly higher rent near your office often works out cheaper once travel is counted.

If you are deciding between a PG and renting a flat with colleagues, see PG vs flat in Delhi NCR. For a cheaper base with a metro commute, some people working in Gurgaon live in South West Delhi; compare with PGs in Delhi.

Contact owners directly

Every listing on LSC Smart Living has Call and WhatsApp buttons you can use without signing up. Shortlist PGs near your office, visit two or three on the same evening and choose the one where the total monthly cost and the commute both work.
